Understanding the Inputs (इनपुट को समझें)
Powerplay Runs (पावर प्ले रन):
The total runs scored by the batting team during the powerplay phase. In T20, powerplay is the first 6 overs; in ODI, it is the first 10 overs. Include all runs: boundaries, singles, twos, threes, and extras credited to the batting side during this phase.
Powerplay Overs (पावर प्ले ओवर):
The number of overs bowled during powerplay. T20 powerplay = 6 overs; ODI powerplay = 10 overs. Use decimal format: 6.2 means 6 overs 2 balls. Enter the overs actually played in powerplay (e.g., if only 5 overs completed, enter 5.0).
Formula Used (उपयोग किया गया सूत्र)
Powerplay Run Rate = Powerplay Runs ÷ Powerplay Overs
पावर प्ले रन रेट = पावर प्ले रन ÷ पावर प्ले ओवर
Example (T20): 55 runs in 6 overs → 55 ÷ 6 = 9.17 run rate
Example (ODI): 72 runs in 10 overs → 72 ÷ 10 = 7.20 run rate
Powerplay Overview (पावर प्ले की जानकारी)
T20 Powerplay:
First 6 overs. Only 2 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle. Teams often target 9–11 runs per over. A powerplay run rate of 8+ is decent; 9+ is good; 10+ is excellent.
ODI Powerplay:
First 10 overs (also called mandatory powerplay). Similar fielding restrictions. A powerplay run rate of 6–7 is standard; 7+ is aggressive; 8+ is very good.
Do's and Don'ts (क्या करें और क्या न करें)
Do's:
- Use the correct powerplay overs: 6 for T20, 10 for ODI.
- Count only runs scored during the powerplay phase.
- Compare powerplay run rate with team's overall run rate to assess powerplay performance.
Don'ts:
- Don't mix powerplay runs with post-powerplay runs.
- Don't confuse powerplay run rate with required run rate or team run rate.
- Don't use overs beyond powerplay (e.g., 12 overs in T20) when calculating powerplay run rate.
