Understanding the Inputs (इनपुट को समझें)
Partnership runs (पार्टनरशिप रन):
The total runs scored by the two batsmen while they are batting together in a partnership. Count only the runs added from the moment the partnership started (e.g. when the second batsman came in) until the moment it ended (a wicket or end of innings). Include all runs (singles, boundaries, extras credited to the batsmen).
Partnership overs (पार्टनरशिप ओवर):
The number of overs (or balls) faced during that partnership. Use cricket decimal format: 10.2 = 10 overs 2 balls (62 balls), 5.5 = 5 overs 5 balls (35 balls). Only the decimal part 1–5 is valid for balls in the last over; 6 balls = 1 over, so use the next whole over instead.
Formula Used (उपयोग किया गया सूत्र)
Partnership Run Rate = Partnership runs ÷ Partnership overs
पार्टनरशिप रन रेट = पार्टनरशिप रन ÷ पार्टनरशिप ओवर
Example: 85 runs in 10.2 overs (10 overs 2 balls) → 85 ÷ 10.33 ≈ 8.23 runs per over. This tells you how quickly the pair scored during their stand.
Why Partnership Run Rate Matters (महत्व)
Partnership run rate shows how fast a batting pair is scoring together. A high rate (e.g. 9+) in T20 or ODI indicates strong momentum and pressure on the bowling side. Coaches and analysts use it to compare stands, assess match situation, and plan bowling changes. It is the same concept as team run rate but applied only to the period when two specific batsmen are at the crease.
Do's and Don'ts (क्या करें और क्या न करें)
Do's:
- Count only runs and overs during the actual partnership (from join to wicket/end).
- Use overs in decimal format: 8.4 for 8 overs 4 balls.
- Use partnership run rate to compare different stands in the same or different matches.
Don'ts:
- Don't include runs or balls before the partnership started or after it ended.
- Don't use 8.6 for 9 overs—use 9.0 (6 balls = 1 over).
- Don't confuse partnership run rate with individual strike rate—partnership rate is for the pair together.
