Bonus Percentage (बोनस प्रतिशत):
The percentage of your eligible salary that the employer declares as a bonus. The statutory minimum is 8.33% and the maximum is 20%.

Bonus = (Calculation Salary × Percentage) / 100
Calculation Salary = The lower of your actual Basic+DA or ₹7,000 per month (₹84,000 annually).
Note: As per the Payment of Bonus Act, if your salary exceeds ₹7,000/month, the bonus is calculated as if your salary were ₹7,000/month (or the minimum wage, whichever is higher - here we use the ₹7,000 ceiling for estimation).
Example (उदाहरण): If your Basic+DA is ₹20,000 and the company declares an 8.33% bonus, the calculation counts your salary as ₹7,000. So, Bonus = 7,000 × 8.33% = ₹583 per month (approx ₹7,000 annually).
यदि आपका Basic+DA ₹20,000 है और कंपनी 8.33% बोनस घोषित करती है, तो गणना आपके वेतन को ₹7,000 मानती है। इसलिए, बोनस = 7,000 × 8.33% = ₹583 प्रति माह (लगभग ₹7,000 वार्षिक)।

You are generally eligible for a bonus if you have worked for at least 30 working days in the financial year and hold a position with a salary up to ₹21,000 per month.

Ensure the bonus percentage declared by your company is applied correctly. It cannot be less than 8.33% of the calculation salary.
Timing (समय)
Bonuses must usually be paid within 8 months of the close of the accounting year. In India, this often coincides with the Diwali festival.
